TPCR4S Page on POST

The Post

The Power On Self Test(POST) is the first instruction
executed during startup. It checks the components
of the P.C. and makes sure everything works. You
may follow the checks being executed:
1). Info about the graphics adapter
2.) Info about the BIOS(name, version)
3.) Info about the RAM(being counted)
As the user, we have very little control over the
POST instructions. Some system boards allow the
user to diable the RAM test, which cuts down the
POST time. It can run quite slow on older machines,
but you can disrupt it by pressing (ESC).
If POST detects an error in the system, it will
write an error message on the screen, or it will
send out a pattern of beeps to identify the error
to the user.
CMOS(complimentary metal oxide semiconductor) data
can be divided into two groups. Data, which POST
cannot find during the system test, and data which
contains user options.

I will be moving my belongings in shortly.
